Robert,
Good advice about making any alterations to the product. Has the manufacturer issued a recall? Since every set is an immense lawsuit in the making I would think they would want every set of aluminum shafts replaced immediately.
Those using this product can't wait for slipping to begin before taking action--by then it will be too late.

I am the guy that fell using the LADR-LEG-LEVEL. I had them analyzed and it was determined that the aluminum on the shaft is inferior. They started making these things with steel instead of aluminum after my accident.

I'm a paraplegic and in a lot of pain every day because of the accident. I'd be careful about altering the shaft by filing it down. If you have an accident after tampering with the way they are made, the court will say it's YOUR fault!

Are yours made of steel or aluminum?

Sincerely,
