Re: [World] Cold weather Gutter Cleaning

Patrick,

It has  to be done for 2 reasons. One is the weight. It won't just go away and a gutter can way several hundred pounds depending on how mush ice and leaves are in it. The second is ice dams. These cause major damage to homes. The ice gets under the shingles. Which means when it thaws, all that melted snow and ice will come into the house and damage the inside walls and ceilling, not to mention repairing the roof. A few hundred in gutter cleaning can save you thousands in the spring. There is not a roofer who will work in the winter so you're stuck with the drips til March or April.

Forgive my ignorance...being from Florida and all...why in the world would you want to clean iced gutters ?  Is it because of the weight ?  Seems to me like it would be easier just to wait until spring...
